Scalp Sun Protection: The Often-Overlooked Summer Care

In summer, many people make a point of protecting their face and arms from the sun.

The scalp, on the other hand, is one area that is surprisingly easy to overlook.

Because the top of the head is the part of the body closest to the sun, it is said to be easily affected by UV rays even in everyday life.

In particular,

• People who are concerned about their part line
• People who spend a lot of time outdoors
• People who do not usually wear a hat

tend to accumulate UV damage on the scalp.

Heavy UV exposure is said to possibly lead to

• Dryness of the scalp
• Itchiness
• An unbalanced scalp environment

and similar issues.

Summer is also a season when sweat and sebum production increase, so the condition of the scalp tends to change easily.

That is why everyday care such as

• Wearing a hat
• Using a parasol
• Applying a sunscreen made for the scalp
• Keeping your scalp clean after you get home

is important.

Some of our guests at La HEAD tell us things like:

“My scalp feels tight.”

“My head feels heavy and dull in the summer.”

These are some of the comments we hear.

Dry head spa works not only on the scalp but also on the neck, shoulders and back of the head.

Of course, it does not protect against the effects of UV rays, but some guests incorporate it as part of their regular scalp care or as time to refresh.

Summer is now arriving in full.

Why not pay attention to your scalp as well as your face and body, and enjoy a comfortable summer?
